Five Note by Note travel sprays with pineapple, lime, coconut and green tea on travertine

The short answer

Aventus for fruity and smoky. Aventus for Her for green apple and rose. Green Irish Tweed for fresh herbs and violet. Silver Mountain Water for cool tea and citrus. Virgin Island Water for coconut and lime. All five come as a 1.5 ml sample, so you can try Creed without the full-bottle price.

Creed bottles are a serious investment, and they are some of the most blind-bought fragrances out there. A sample lets you live with one for a few days first. Here is how the five Creeds we stock compare.

The five at a glance

Fragrance Character Sizes
Aventus Juicy fruit, birch, oakmoss 1.5 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml
Aventus for Her Green apple, rose, peach, sandalwood 1.5 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml
Green Irish Tweed Herbs, violet leaf, woods 1.5 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml
Silver Mountain Water Green tea, citrus, soft musk 1.5 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml
Virgin Island Water Coconut, lime, rum, sugar cane 1.5 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml

Creed Aventus

The big one. Pineapple, red apple, black currant and bergamot make a bright, juicy opening, then birch and oakmoss bring a dry, smoky, earthy edge, rounded by musk and amber. Lively at first, more grounded as it settles.

Pick this if you want the most recognisable Creed, or you are weighing up a full bottle and want to be sure.

Creed Aventus for Her

Green apple and lemon with black currant and peach for a crisp, juicy start. Rose sits at the heart, with patchouli, musk and sandalwood underneath. Fruity and elegant rather than smoky.

Pick this if you love fruit notes but want them balanced with florals and soft woods.

Creed Green Irish Tweed

Lemon verbena and basil, violet leaf and iris, over cedar, vetiver, sandalwood and amber. Fresh, green and composed, like a well-tailored jacket. A classic for a reason.

Pick this if you like crisp herbs and leafy freshness with a warm base.

Creed Silver Mountain Water

Green tea and black currant with bergamot, orange and petitgrain, a green edge of galbanum, and soft musk and sandalwood to finish. Clean, cool and bright without being sweet.

Pick this if you want a fresh scent with more character than plain citrus.

Creed Virgin Island Water

Coconut, lime, rum and sugar cane, lifted by bergamot and orange and a spark of ginger, with musk underneath. Basically a beach holiday in a bottle, and unisex.

Pick this if you want something sunny and tropical rather than green or woody.

How to test a Creed sample

Spray on skin and give it time. Aventus in particular changes a lot between the first ten minutes and the drydown. Dubai heat makes scent bloom, so wear it where you would normally wear a fragrance, not just at home in the AC. New to decants? Read our guide.

Compare Aventus with other big names

The Best Sellers Set for Him puts Aventus next to Dior Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel. The Date Night Set for Him pairs it with Sauvage and Versace Eros. Three 5 ml travel sprays each, cheaper than buying them separately.
